Delicious Homemade Yogurt

Making yogurt at home is easier than you think!

Equipment

  • Stainless steel pot
  • wooden or silicone spoon
  • thermometer
  • 4 quart jars
  • 1 pint jar

Ingredients
  

  • 1 gallon milk
  • 2 Tbs yogurt Live probiotics

Instructions
 

  • Set aside the starter yogurt to warm to room temperature.
  • Heat the milk until it reaches180-200 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure to stir it often so that it doesn't stick to the bottom.
  • Let the milk cool naturally until it reaches 110-120 degrees.
  • After the milk has cooled, mix in the yogurt then pour your mixture into the jars. store in a warm place, such as a cooler wrapped in towels, for about 8 hours.
  • If you like a tangier yogurt then leave the yogurt set for longer. I've found that leaving it for even 9 hours gives it an increasingly tangier taste.
